Trick or Treat? How about a new remix?

Greetings! While I normally remake music from older Sonic the Hedgehog games, with Halloween drawing ever closer, I figured I would try something different and put my own spin on a classic song that would be suitable for the occasion.

In this case, a piano/electronic remix from the 1987 Konami classic: Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest. The song in question? "Bloody Tears". So, after 3 very busy days trying to get this track finished in time for Halloween, here is the result. :)

Hope you all enjoy this tune and have a Happy Halloween!

Although, my favorite holiday is usually November 1st: Buy Halloween Munchies at 50% Off Day! XD

Catch ya on the flip side!

Greetings, everybody! :) With Halloween quickly approaching, I've decided to try and make a new tune that's quite suitable for the occasion. I've already spend two days working on this track and so far, a piano/electronic remix of Bloody Tears from Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest is coming along quite nicely.

If all goes well, it may be finished in the next few days. Keep en eye out for it if you are a fan of the Castlevania series. :)

Also, if you want more frequent updates and news about upcoming projects I'm working on, feel free to follow me on Twitter: https://twitter.com/DrMackFoxx

That's all for now. See you all later!

EDIT: The song is now probably done! Some minor adjustments remain if anything. :)

Good day, everyone! :) I have a few things to mention today.

First off, for those of you familiar with the many animation projects from Sonic Paradox (Sonic Shorts, Seaside Denied, Sonic F, etc.), I am glad to announce a brand new kind of collab: Sonic Paradox Remix Shorts!

Basically, this is a fan-album consisting of remixed tracks from several Sonic the Hedgehog video games put together by several musicians: many of who are regular members of Sonic Paradox. They are called remix shorts as the tracks needed to be not longer than about 2 minutes in length. As a musician in Sonic Paradox, I highly recommend checking out this album, which can be downloaded for free from Sega Sonic Radio using this link:

http://radio.sonicstadium.org/2012/08/sonic-para dox-remix-shorts-now-available/

Happy listening! ^_^

As for me, an interview I took part in was recently posted on The Sonic Stadium and Sega Sonic Radio. :) You can check it out here if you want: http://radio.sonicstadium.org/2012/09/the-sound-
check-with-dr-mack-foxx/

Lastly, I am going to take a short break from covering Sonic the Hedgehog game music to make an attempt at another piano/electronic cover from scratch, like my remake of the main theme from the 1985 classic Sega arcade game, Space Harrier. http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/491497

I shall attempt to make a cover of a song called "Pass Through the Forest" from the 1999 PlayStation game Threads of Fate, by SquareSoft (Back when they were still called that, anyway). Shouldn't take more than a week to get this project sorted out.

Well, that's all for now. Catch ya on the flip-side!

Wow! I'm quite amazed to see that over 200 fellow Newgrounders have become fans of my work over the last 7 years. I'm so glad you have enjoyed my work and collabs with EspioKaos & Aaraboga over the years. :) Thank you all very, very much! ^_^

Anyway, here are EspioKaos' and my newest submissions to the Audio Portal: 4 more piano/electronic covers from the 1992 Sega Genesis video game, Sonic 2:

Sonic 2- Wing Fortress Piano http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/494245
Sonic2-Special Zone Piano http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/494246
Sonic 2-HiddenPalacePiano http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/494247
Sonic2-DeathEggZonePiano http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/494248

We hope you enjoy these tunes. :) As always, there are more in production. See you all later!

Hello! Here are EspioKaos' and my newest tracks: more piano/electronic remixes from the Game Gear/Master System version of Sonic 2. Hope you all enjoy these songs. :)

"Game Gear Sonic 2- Underground Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/491863
"Game Gear Sonic 2- Sky High Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/491864
"Game Gear Sonic 2- Aqua Lake Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/491865
"Game Gear Sonic 2- Scrambled Egg Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/491866

Hello, everyone! :) Giving you all an update.

I have 4 more tracks completed and ready to go! I just need my collaborator, EspioKaos, to reply to the requests I sent him to be added to the Credits panel in each submission. Shouldn't take more than a few days, if all goes well. ^_^

Well, that's it for now. See you next time!

P.S.- Oh! And don't forget to check out my piano/electronic cover of the main theme from Space Harrier if you have not done so yet. :) "Space Harrier Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/491497

Hello! :) I have something different for you all. Instead of remaking more music from a Sonic the Hedgehog game, I decided to try something else and make a cover of a track from another game. This time, I also had to try and recreate the original song from scratch. It took two days of near-constant work to produce this one.

'Tis the main theme from the 1985 Sega arcade classic, Space Harrier! Hope you all enjoy it. :)

Attack of the Music Swarm!

Hello! I have quite a few things to mention today. :)

Well, time for another decent-sized group of new tracks! First off, 3 more covers of songs from Sonic 2:

"Sonic 2- 2 Player VS- Emerald Hill Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/487466
"Sonic 2- 2 Player VS- Mystic Cave Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/487467
"Sonic 2- 2 Player VS- Race Results Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/487469

Next, something new! I think I can now officially say that I've completed my first remixes. For for your listening pleasure, here are some piano/electronic remixes from the Game Gear version of Sonic 2, released back in 1992:

"Game Gear Sonic 2- Gimmick Mountain Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/487471
"Game Gear Sonic 2- Green Hills Zone Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/487472

Those of you familiar with the European/Japanese soundtrack from Sonic CD may note how how Green Hills Zone is very similar to "Toot, Toot Sonic Warrior" [IE: The intro theme from that version of Sonic CD].

Hope you all enjoy the music! :)

Two more things I would like to mention.

First, if you have added me to your list of Favorite Authors for music, please consider adding my collaborator, EspioKaos http://espiokaos.newgrounds.com to your Favorite Authors list as well. :)

Lastly, feel free to follow me on Twitter for project updates [IE: New music, cartoons, etc]. That is pretty much all I use Twitter for. ^_^; http://www.twitter.com/drmackfoxx

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the weekend. See you next time!

Well, yesterday I got quite the pleasant surprise when I found out that one of John Weeks' and my songs was featured in an article on The Sonic Stadium!

Here is the article: http://www.sonicstadium.org/2012/04/sound-test-s aturday-green-groves-and-jet-set/

The song in question? "Sonic- Green Grove Act 1 Piano" http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/listen/405191

Sonic: Manga Madness

2012-04-07 05:42:01 by DrMackFoxx
Updated

Here is a new, recently-completed project, in collaboration with Recorderdude http://recorderdude.newgrounds.com/ and in association with Sonic Paradox! http://sonicparadox.webege.com/

We present the first episode of Manga Madness: a collaborative dub series that has been in the workings since November of 2011.

Created by Recorderdude and I around late November, the concept of a full comic dub grew into reality as Recorderdude completed an intro for the series and began work on the comic itself. Instead of merely voice-acting the comics, he sought to add smooth transition and a slight amount of constant motion, as to simulate how a person might actually read through a manga such as this, with given expansion for comedic timing and comprehensibility.

The series aims to enrich the zany stylings of the Sonic CoroCoro comics with emulated motion, sound, music and voice acting, somewhat similar to the well-known SP "Sonic Saiyuki" redubbing.

More episodes are planned in the future, and the pilot episode has finally been finished and released on YouTube [Mainly as this project really would not work so well in the Flash Portal]

While the first episode is very simple, revolving around a simple plot with only Sonic and Eggman present, future episodes will introduce more characters as does the manga and the cast will need expansion. Thus far, EspioKaos http://espiokaos.newgrounds.com and I have supplied additional vocal and musical talent, though auditions may be held in the future, so keep an eye out!

For now, though, watch, enjoy, and feel free to post feedback here! Any and all opinions and thoughts will surely help the series grow :)
